Moonshine is the product of a game jam. That is to say, it was made in 48 hours from conception to submission for an informal, biannual, game-making competition called Ludum Dare. This particular jam was Ludum Dare 26, which was themed “Minimalism.” Moonshine was made with my game jam life partner @travischen, with myself designing and creating the assets. The haikus are weird – they were chosen to fit the theme of minimalism and we intentionally wrote them to be ambiguous. We found the VO guy in the comments section of another game we made together (Dear Esteban) and reached out to him for this project. He recorded himself speaking the haikus right away. The haikus sort of provide some context for why this hobo is running around these dark streets avoiding phantom darkness dogs, but not really.
